We would like to introduce you to a wonderfully unique product – top quality extra virgin olive oil produced from an Irish-owned and operated olive farm. The farm is situated in Tarragona province about 160 km south of Barcelona on the Mediterranean coast of Catalonia, Spain.
We harvest the olives ourselves according to an age-old traditional process which has been carried out in the Mediterranean region for thousands of years. We never use any chemical herbicides, sprays or insecticides and the farm is now registered as being "in conversion" to organic.
The oil is Extra Virgin and is from the first cold pressing and is of superb quality, even though we say so ourselves ! The acidity of this year's crop is 0.2% which is one of the lowest acidity levels achievable. The oil is light green or gold in colour with a fruity flavour, slightly spicy with overtones of banana or almond with a very mild peppery aftertaste.
